About us

As a global technology specialist for data management, ADEX provides all participants in automated trading of media services with data-supported access to digital programmatic marketplaces. With ADEX DMP, ADEX has developed a data management platform technology that aggregates, segments, and analyses data from many and various data sources and structures.

DevOps Engineer (f/m)

DevOps Engineer (f/m)

Berlin, Germany

At ADEX we are working on a real Big Data scale. We analyze billions of requests daily using one of the biggest Big Data clusters in Europe. We love automation, so we use tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Cloudera on a daily basis, and always try to minimize the manual interactions. This allows us to compute huge data amounts in time and focus on improving the system. Some of the new technologies that we are using right now are Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and Docker.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (f/m) who can develop system automation tools to manage our deployment. As a DevOps Engineer, you will help the team with maintaining, growing, and optimizing the existing fleet of Linux servers. You will initially wear several hats, but can take ownership of an entire segment of our infrastructure as our company and product grow. Furthermore, you will help to architect our application’s backend, creating scalable services, frameworks, and storage solutions in PHP, Java, Python, and Go. Communication with Data Engineers, Scientists, and Software Engineers will be part of your daily work.

What we are looking for:

  • 1-3 year experience using Linux operating system
  • 1-3 year experience with system management tools (Puppet, Ansible, or Chef)
  • Prior experience maintaining applications in Java, PHP, and/or Python
  • Experience in doing continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • A firm understanding of backend scalability, performance, and/or automation
  • A practical view towards technology selection, striking the right balance between cutting-edge tools and more stable, rock-solid, traditional choices.
  • Very good communication skills, fluent in English
  • Desire to move things forward and take ownership of the tasks
  • Having one or more of the following is not required but nice to have:
    - Experience with Go, Spark, or Hadoop ecosystem
    - Familiarity with Redis

What we offer:

  • A small international team with different skill sets and backgrounds. We are approachable and take the time to teach and help each other
  • Engineering culture: half of the company works in technical positions. Product decisions are made by engineers
  • Bright and spacious office easily accessible by public transportation (Tram, S-Bahn, and U-Bahn)
  • Flexible working hours and independent work structure
  • Choose your own equipment
  • 26+ days paid vacation
  • German lessons

Go Software Engineer (f/m)

Go Software Engineer (f/m)

At the ADEX we are building a distributed system at massive scale. Our system serves more than 20,000 requests per second through high availability services and APIs. We collect, pre-process, analyze, segment, and deliver outcomes to our customers on more than 100 servers. We continuously investigate new tech stacks and are open for new ideas and fresh input.

As a Go Software Engineer (f/m) you will develop high performance and scalable backend services and APIs for multiple parts of our system, collaborating with the rest of our small and talented team of engineers (Infrastructure Engineers, Data Scientists, and Big Data Engineers). You will have a voice in the entire product, but will focus on server-side implementation, assume technical leadership over an area of the product, and have the opportunity to write a lot of new components and sub-systems from scratch.

What we are looking for:

  • Go experience is not necessary: a solid Computer Science background and a desire to learn new stacks definitely is
  • An experienced PHP, Ruby, Python, or Java developer who can build a complex distributed system and is willing to learn and develop Go programming skills
  • An understanding of how design decisions affect scalability, storage requirements, and the like
  • Good Linux skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Having one or more of the following is not required but nice to have:
    - Experience with Docker, Kafka, Hadoop, MySQL, and Key Value databases
    - Experience working on a consumer product at scale

What we offer:

  • Learn and improve your Go skills while working in the field of Big Data
